A lot of learning. And wow, a lot of land.

"Sprawling" is one word to describe the grounds surrounding our school. But the truth is, you'd probably reference the building the same way. Jackson's main school structure was erected in the groovy mid-sixties, and reflects a mod "pod" styling so as not to clash with the forest that surrounds it. In 2005, a new wing was added to complement the existing architecture, and provide an expansive, fully upgraded environment for our fifth graders. It even includes an outdoor amphitheater that seats 300! In total, our Main Campus serves approximately 530 children attending the 2nd through 5th grades, in 35 active classrooms (all of which have had recent installations of interactive whiteboards and LCD projectors). All classrooms are outfitted with computers that use the Linux Operating System, and most have a computer ratio of 2:1 (In the 5th grade, we have one computer for each child). In addition, the Main Campus offers dedicated art and music rooms, a full-size gymnasium and professional stage with state-of-the-art sound and lighting, a computer lab, a science lab, an expansive media center/library, full cafeteria, and facility space for speech, ESOL and other special needs students. Outside, students can take advantage of two large playgrounds, a basketball court, a league-sized ball field, a multi-lane running track, a science garden, two memory gardens and even a few outdoor classrooms! At Jackson, that's just the beginning of what twelve acres will get you.
