How does the Annual Fund work?
Every fall, the Jackson PTA kicks off the Annual Fund campaign. Money raised will be used to cover shortfalls in funding from Atlanta Public Schools and to cover the exceptional programs and ongoing improvements that you have come to expect at Jackson. Parents, teachers, corporate sponsors and friends of the school are asked via solicitation letters and presentations at school events to make a gift to Jackson.
What initiatives will the PTA budget support this year?
Besides supporting music, drama and the media centers via the Annual Fund, the Jackson PTA will invest in numerous initiatives, including:
- Supplemental staff as needed
- Instructional materials/curriculum enhancements
- Technology support and upgrades
- Building and Grounds upgrades and maintenance at both campuses
- Ongoing staff development
Why is high participation important to the Annual Fund?
Full participation by parents and faculty demonstrates solidarity within the Jackson community. It also indicates to corporations, foundations and major donors that those who are most connected to Jackson are committed to the school and involved in its future well-being.

How do matching gifts work?

How do I give securities/stock?
Please contact Dana Ugwonali the Annual Fund committee at danaobi@bellsouth.net to facilitate this process. Donors of securities are eligible for special tax advantages.
What is the status of the WT Jackson Foundation?
The WT Jackson Foundation raised over $50,000 from Jackson parents in 2008-2009. All of the proceeds went towards purchasing interactive white boards (Promethean boards) in every classroom to provide our students with a fantastic technological tool for enhanced learning over many years. For tax purposes, the Foundation will receive all money from fund-raising efforts, which will then be used to fund the PTA operating budget. There will be no impact on any of the events, improvements or supplementation that our parent body expects from the PTA.
